Tour Andalucia by bus and train (13 days)

Málaga – Sevilla – Córdoba – Granada – Nerja

Would you like to travel by bus and train instead of by car? In this tour Andalucia bus and train you will explore the main cities by public transport. You do not have parking problems and travel comfortably from downtown to downtown. The journey begins in Málaga; A pleasant seaside town with the Picasso Museum as one of the main attractions. In Sevilla, Córdoba and Granada you will experience the rich history of the Moorish domination of this part of Spain. There are many beautiful buildings to visit. The Alcázar in Sevilla, the Mezquita in Córdoba and the Alhambra in Granada are the most important. In addition, you will experience the temperament and passion of the Spaniards on the busy streets and squares. You finish the Andalucia tour bus and train in Nerja where you enjoy the beach and recover from all the impressions before you go home again.

Day to day:

Day 1: Arrival Málaga
You arrive at Málaga airport. Welcome to Andalucia! An employee of Tejeda Travel will welcome you and, if you wish, accompany you to the first hotel in the centre of Málaga. You will receive the remaining travel documents and the course of the journey will be discussed with you. There are many nice squares in Málaga where you can get a drink and a tapa to recover from the trip.

Day 2: Málaga
Málaga is yet not so well known by tourists. It is a pleasant city with a harbor, beach and palm-lined boulevard. You have the whole day to explore Málaga at your leisure. One of the highlights is the Picasso museum which is housed in a beautifully renovated palace.

Day 3: Málaga – Sevilla
You can take a taxi to the station. The train tickets you have already received from us and you only have to get in the right train to Sevilla. It is a ride of 2.5 hours. The hilly landscape is passing by. You drive through tunnels and along lakes and stop at stations of typical Spanish villages. Arriving in Sevilla you have a short taxi ride to the hotel. You will arrive at your beautiful hotel in the popular Santa Cruz district with the main attractions very close by. Of course there is still plenty of time for a city walk. Perhaps you could still attend a Flamenco show tonight. The addresses you will get from us.

Day 4: Sevilla
You have a whole day to discover the beautiful Sevilla. There is a lot to see. The most famous sights are of course the giant Cathedral (the largest in the world) with the Giralda and the Alcázar; a beautiful structure (originally a fortress) that is on the list of World Heritage Sites. But Sevilla also has a number of interesting museums, such as the Flamenco Museum. You could take a tour of the bullring La Real Maestranza. Bullfighting will not be everyone’s taste, but it is an important aspect of Spanish culture. You can also enjoy life in the narrow streets, squares and bars. It buzzes until late at night…

Day 5: Sevilla – Córdoba
After breakfast you will go to the station for your train to Córdoba. The journey takes only three quarters and leads you through an area full of olive trees. On this route you will travel by the high-speed train. Arriving in Córdoba, you will check-in to your nice hotel in the centre of the city. Maybe it’s an idea to get the entertainment program at the tourist information. A lot is organized in Córdoba. Live music is available every night. If you need some rest, the Hammam Baños Arabes is a must. You can relax in the Arabian atmosphere.

Day 6: Córdoba
You have the whole day to visit Córdoba at your leisure. Córdoba was once the Islamic capital of the Iberian Peninsula. Of course, you should not miss the Mezquita, according to many the most beautiful building in Andalucia. In addition, Córdoba is best known for its Jewish quarter, a maze of small streets and patios. You can spend hours wandering around… There are plenty of wineries and tapas bars in Córdoba as well as excellent restaurants. You will get tips from us.

Day 7: Córdoba – Granada
After breakfast, you can go by bus or taxi to the bus station for your trip to Granada. The ride per comfortable bus takes about 2.5 hours. You will check-in to the beautiful hotel, located between the Alhambra and the old town. Because of the many students, Granada is a hip and vibrant city. In the city you have a view of the snow-capped peaks of the Sierra Nevada.

Day 8: Granada
Today you will explore the Alhambra. Beautiful Moorish palaces in landscaped gardens. We have arranged the entrance tickets in advance so that you can be sure that you are allowed everywhere. Of course the Alhambra is not the only thing you want to see from Granada. Most of the sights are just a short walk away. A walk through the Albayzin district is also a must. Here you will find typical small cottages decorated with flowers. In the evening, you can again relax in one of the many squares of Granada.

Day 9: Granada – Nerja
Today you can take the bus to the coast to relax for another two days. These tickets are also arranged in advance. It is a nice ride of about 2 hours. You will stay in a hotel near the beach.

Day 10 – 12: Nerja
These days you can relax on one of Nerja’s small beaches. If you want to be more active, you might like to visit the famous caves of Nerja. The village of Frigiliana is also worth a visit. And in the evening a nice fish dinner by the sea.

Day 13: Nerja – departure Málaga
Depending on the time of departure you can still enjoy the beach or the swimming pool. Within 2.5 hours (including the transfer in Málaga) you can arrive at the airport by bus. If you wish, we can offer you a faster and more comfortable private transfer. This is the end of a wonderful journey!
